Guess I had better ask

Just came across a post by Ann Michael.  Rasied a great question about blog content and interest and such. It got me to thinking since I author two blogs, a website, and a newsletter.

Would you guys tell me if I was putting out junk?  I mean not in a public comment or anything (remember, you love me). But, would you shoot me an email, ring my phone, or something to let me know it just ain’t good?  Then, could you follow that up with some ideas to make it better?

I’m not gonna lie…this writing business is good for me.  I enjoy it, it is a great release, and I am hoping it keeps me sharp.  But what’s the point if you guys don’t like it too?

The Starbucker Meme

“I meme therefore, I am.” That’ll be the new one. I had thought I had fulfilled the “meme requirement.” But, alas. I have been tagged by Chris. And this meme is different. So I will play ’cause it’s fun.

“The Starbucker Meme” rules (named for the creator, not the coffee).

  1. How full is your glass?
  2. What kind of glass is it?
  3. What’s in the glass?
  4. Reasons for #1, #2, and #3

Here we go…

  1. Empty
  2. Anges, the Sea Turtle Coffee mug
  3. Nothing – hence, answer #1
  4. My coffee mug is empty because I am always the first one up. So, the coffee is still brewing. But very soon it will be filled with fully caffeinated, french vanilla (sugar free) flavored, coffee. And, no, I am not crazy. But, yes, this particular coffee mug has a name. Well, not really the mug, but the sea turtle on the mug. Just thought he looked like an Anges.

Now on to the business of tagging others…

I tag…

  1. Theresa
  2. Stacey
  3. Dolores™
  4. AtholK
  5. Diana
  6. Penny
  7. Jason
  8. My folks

Gotta go fill up Anges!

An epiphany

I wanted to know how people got where they are. I wanted to know what paths people followed. Why they headed in a direction, how they knew what to do. I guess I should clarify that I am speaking professionally and as a person of the community. So, I called the person who I believe knows the most about this sort of thing (Hi Lisa!)

She’s busy as she always is. She makes time for me like she always does. We chat for a while. It takes me a minute to effectively relate what my question of the day is. Lisa is spot on when she tells me it is a test of time. Can you put one foot in front of the other continuously day after day? Good, effective, productive people have perseverance and staying power.

Gotcha – that part I knew, but it helped to hear her say it. My fear is that after much of that time has lapsed, will I look back and realize if I had only known about this sooner, I could have gotten started, begun to develop, initiated the process? Maybe, she says. Depends on what your goals are. What are your goals, April?

Damn…
